Understanding how our brain works can be an invaluable aid to move us to change. Experience of others around the world shows we are what we think. What we think affects how we feel. If we can change how we think, some of our feelings can change too. Unfortuneately it's not all about 'positive thinking' because guess what? When we can't feel positive we feel guilty and this will not help us work on our thinking patterns.
Science has proved our neural pathways (thinking) can be retrained. Speak to your therapist to start retraining your neural pathways today.
What great news, we can do something about our thought patterns, if ... we choose to. A word of caution: before running off to point out to our family and friends where they have unhelpful thinking patterns, remember this is about our own thinking patterns. Another word of caution: this approach takes effort, commitment and work!
Can you identify any of these thinking patterns in yourself?
